“Here’s How President Trump could undermine LGBT rights” by Kevin Naff on The Washington Blade “So, yes, we are shocked and disheartened. But the road to equality is long. This is a detour, not a dead end. Take a day to mourn, then take comfort in how far the LGBT movement has come in eight quick years and get back to work.”

On NPR @AtticaLocke re term “White Racists” “Fct of the mttr is tht u hv 2 @ best b able 2 tlrte racism in ur pres” http://bit.ly/2eLSJ5H

Just re-listened to Attica Locke on NPR regarding the term “White Racists”. In response to ‘There are many Trump supporters…who wouldn’t consider themselves racist.’ “I’m out with that. There’s a part of me that honestly feels like that level of politeness when we’re not calling things what they are is how we will never get forward. The fact of the matter is that you have to at best be able to tolerate racism in your president.”

Trump won. Now we organize to block him, every step of the way | Kate Aronoff

“Trump won. Now we organize to block him, every step of the way” by Kate Aronoff on The Guardian

“In January, we’ll see which of Trump’s plans – to round up and deport 11 million undocumented immigrants, tear up the Paris Agreement, throw Clinton in jail – he’ll follow through on. The upshot is already clear: in short order, the United States could slide from hawkish neoliberalism into authoritarianism. Preventing this will mean mustering more unity and vision than progressives in the United States ever have.”

Ecclesiastes 1:9

The words of the Teacher,[a] son of David, king in Jerusalem:

“Meaningless! Meaningless!”
    says the Teacher.
“Utterly meaningless!
    Everything is meaningless.”

What do people gain from all their labors
    at which they toil under the sun?
Generations come and generations go,
    but the earth remains forever.
The sun rises and the sun sets,
    and hurries back to where it rises.
The wind blows to the south
    and turns to the north;
round and round it goes,
    ever returning on its course.
All streams flow into the sea,
    yet the sea is never full.
To the place the streams come from,
    there they return again.
All things are wearisome,
    more than one can say.
The eye never has enough of seeing,
    nor the ear its fill of hearing.
What has been will be again,
    what has been done will be done again;
    there is nothing new under the sun.
10 Is there anything of which one can say,
    “Look! This is something new”?
It was here already, long ago;
    it was here before our time.
11 No one remembers the former generations,
    and even those yet to come
will not be remembered
    by those who follow them.
